Elven Transitional Style (15/46)

In the advanced and stylised civilisations of some elven nations, the niceties of societal practices soon made the classical warriors (see below) a bit out of place. Before the actual elven smallsword (see below) was developed, a gentlemanly tradition evolved in these societies, parallel to the developments human society, but still drawing heavily on the classical arts. The Elven curved Longsword shrank to a size and form comparable to a Sabre, or straightned and lightned into a rapier form.

The Elven eye for the exquisite has let them to the development of the Smallsword, a very short, light, rapier-style weapon. This style combines the influences of Sel-Kai with the classical combat disciplines of the elven world. The smallsword style of fencing is very fast, but actually most effective when one hand is free for balancing maneuvers. The unarmed moves of this style are advanced compared to standard Sel-Kai fighting. The style is increasingly taught only to Elves, a result of the current political and social climate.
