Characters for the Shadows of Eidolon milieu should be generated using the GURPS rules found in the following books:
Each character should be built on the standard 100/-40/-5 points. This will represent characters above the norm for people in the world, but still persons of low power in comparison to the real movers and shakers. Lowest rung adventurers.
Characters should come with a background story, preferably a fairly detailed one. If you are not a Shadow World expert, just give me a general idea, and I'll work out the details for you.
Characters should be defined by a trade or profession, ie. the job they have or may take. This, if nothing else, will define their place in the world. Basic starting wealth is the standard $1000.

Sel-Kai is a city with a renaissance feel. It's more "Three Musketeers" (sans the muskets, natch) than "Ivanhoe".

For those interested in playing magic users, note that the three realms all use the GURPS Magic rules, with addition of the Unusual background for certain colleges option. Also, the supernatural abilities of Martial Artists will be represented as Mentalist magic, often with the One College Only limitation on the Magery advantage.
Otherwise, you can be as specific and detailed or as general as you wish. I of course reserve the right to veto anything not ot my taste :-).
